JN Tempo is software for the weekly routine every contractor agency knows well: collecting timesheets, checking them, approving them and dealing with expenses, then doing it all again next week. It was previously known as JN Times, and it is a product of JN Horizon Ltd.
This article explains what JN Tempo does today, who it is designed for and how to try it.
Who it is for
JN Tempo is built for recruitment agencies and for any team that manages contractors. It has three roles:
- Admins set up the organisation, add people, look after billing and keep an eye on the whole picture.
- Managers review and approve timesheets and expenses from the contractors assigned to them.
- Contractors record their hours, clock in and out, and submit timesheets and expense claims.
Each person signs in and sees the screens for their role. Contractors see their own work, managers see the contractors assigned to them, and admins see the organisation.
What it does today
Everything below is in the product now.
- Timesheets, weekly or monthly. The period follows each placement. Contractors enter hours by day, or build their timesheet from clock records.
- Clock in and out. Contractors can clock in and out, with breaks, from a phone. If a record needs fixing, they send a correction request for a manager to review.
- Approvals with reasons. Managers approve timesheets or return them with a reason, so the contractor knows exactly what to change.
- Expenses with receipts. Contractors attach receipts to claims, which are reviewed by the same manager who approves their timesheets.
- Notifications and reminders. Managers hear about new submissions and contractors hear about decisions by email. Managers can remind their contractors to submit in one click.
- Submission status. A single view shows who has and has not submitted for the period.
- Analytics and exports. Approved hours, pay and expenses are summarised, and approved timesheets can be exported to CSV or downloaded as PDFs.
- An audit log. Key actions, such as submissions and approvals, are recorded, and admins can review and export the log.
Designed around the working week
The idea behind the name is simple. Contractor admin has a rhythm: record, submit, review, approve. When that rhythm breaks, someone ends up chasing timesheets on a Monday morning or rebuilding a spreadsheet before payroll.
JN Tempo is designed to keep each step visible. Contractors know what is due, managers know what is waiting for them, and admins can see where the week has stalled before it becomes a problem.
Pricing
There is one plan, with every feature and 20 contractor accounts included. It costs £79 a month, or £799 a year billed annually, which saves £149 compared with paying monthly. If you need more than 20 contractors, you can add capacity in packs of 20 for £25 a month each. See the pricing page for details.
